Dr. Harold Pope was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and moved during childhood with his family to Montgomery County.  Dr. Susie Pope is a native of Montgomery County.  He was saved only three weeks and felt God call him to preach the Word.  They both have a miraculous testimony of how God can transform even your natural circumstances when he has placed a call on your life.  After receiving Christ in 1977, he began ministering in the local jails, along with conducting a home cell group.

The Lord began to lead him into the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC).  He pastored churches in different parts of North Carolina for their denomination from 1978 to 1993 in Lewisville, Elkin, High Point, and Raleigh.  Each of these churches grew in number along with the congregation and surrounding community being greatly affected by the love and compassion this couple has for people.

In 1993, God lead him and his family back to Montgomery County.  They founded Family Worship Ministries, Inc., an interdenominational and inter-racial ministry.  God placed a vision in him to bring light and life to an area in spiritual drought and to usher in the presence of God and see Him save, deliver, bind up the broken hearted, and set at liberty those who are captive.

One of the county officials said, “You have taken on Montgomery County as your own personal mission field’’.  Through a variety of outreach ministries they have made a significant impact on the people here.  Their unconditional love has touched and changed so many lives.

“The Hiding Place’’, a Christian youth center, was the first of many outreach ministries.  It began in 1994 and provided a safe, Christian environment for teenagers and young people to hang out.  There was live music, video, games, pool tables, snack bar and also skill building classes.

In 1997, God raised up FWM Learning Center to provide quality, Christian childcare for children age six weeks to twelve years.  Their goal is to be an extension of the home and to provide a support to parents and families.

In 2001, the Lord blessed them with an opportunity to purchase WJRM, the only radio station in Montgomery County.  God has since widened their audience to www.wjrm.com in order to reach around the world with the gospel.  They also have a television program that airs here in North Carolina on TCT Channel 61 WXLI & Dishnetwork ,We are also on in Montego Bay, Jamaica on Channel 93,& 67.

The Lord birthed FWM Christian Academy in August of 2002.  This is the only Christian school in their area to offer Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade.  MISSION STATEMENT: To educate children physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually through a sound Biblical foundation.   God has given yet another opportunity to reach young people
